Unfortunately I won't be at book club next Monday - I'll be hob nobbling with Screen Award nominees... I'm nominated for best pre-school series at Wednesday's Screen Awards but we're a long shot so we figure we'd better enjoy the Nominee cocktail party we're invited to!

Enjoy the discussion - very intense book so it should be good!

I'm the facilitator, so I better be in. Almost done the book and I am engrossed. It is so intense.

The Canada Reads site has lots of information about Joseph Boyden and First Nations. I especially liked the music playlists chosen by the authors for their books. Check out Joseph Boyden's http://www.cbc.ca/books/canadareads/2014/01/the-orenda-the-soundtrack.html

In honour of the book, I will be using my new aboriginal name "Between Two Places."

See you monday

Love your new name Barb!! We should all come up with aboriginal names for our own and other book club members!

Hey girlies. Still on trip. On phi phi islands right now and headed to ko lanta tomorrow to chase the cycle of the whale shark. Having such fun and am in no rush to hurry home.
Loved the book. Let me know what the next one is and I will get started. If I had to pick an aboriginal name based on present circumstances it would either be She Who Burns All Over or The One The Sea Lice Like. I am a bright red, peeling thing with rows of stings all over. Gorgeous,I know, but worth every snorkel and dive. Went to sharks point this morning at 6am and saw 10 sharks and 4 little baby ones. So amazing.
See you soon and enjoy the discussion. Miss you all.
